Meet Juan
Juan Camacho is a proud immigrant, civil rights leader, and the son of working-class parents who came to Los Angeles chasing the promise of the American Dream.
Growing up, Juan saw firsthand how access to a good-paying job, quality healthcare, and a pathway to citizenship transformed his family’s life. With the help of Cal Grants and part-time jobs, he earned a college degree and began a career in public service. He went on to work in the entertainment industry, where he fought to triple California’s film and TV tax credit — creating thousands of union jobs — and helped lead one of the largest union construction efforts in Los Angeles.
Today, Juan serves as President of Equality California Institute, leading efforts to protect civil rights and fight back against Donald Trump’s attacks on our communities. Under Juan’s leadership, they sued the Trump Administration to block hateful attacks against the LGBTQ+ community and won.
Juan is running for State Senate to fight back against the Trump Administration and deliver results for working families — stopping the ICE raids terrorizing our communities and separating families, protecting reproductive freedom, building more affordable housing and increasing rental assistance programs, ensuring everyone has access to quality affordable healthcare, creating good-paying jobs, and supporting small businesses.

I’m running for State Senate to fight for working families — by creating good jobs, supporting small businesses, making housing more affordable, raising wages, building safe communities where families can thrive, and ensuring access to
quality, affordable healthcare
for all.
